会议背景：

此次研讨会由中南大学和达姆施塔特工业大学（Technische Universit?t Darmstadt）联合发起，旨在紧密围绕两校土木工程特色研究方向和正承担的大型工程项目，进行深入学术探讨。针对两校土木工程专业现状与发展趋势，开展广泛交流，增进共识。

Introduction：

This workshop is jointly initiated by Central South University (CSU) and Technische Universit?t Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt). Its aim is two folds. The attendants will deeply discuss and exchange ideas closely related to the featured research areas, as well as to currently investigated projects. On the other hand, further discussions about the current situation and future development of civil engineering discipline are expected to expand cooperation and consensus.

Objectives:

1. To improve fundamental research and its applications devoted to engineering structures;

2. To establish cooperative relations in scientific research and student cultivation between CSU and TU Darmstadt;

3. To enhance the international cooperation in developing civil engineering discipline of CSU.
